Digital video out for Super Nintendo - prototype
I am developing a digital video output for the SNES.
Superswitch HD is an internal modification of the console that upscales the image to 1080p.
The data source is a digital bus of the PPU.
Conceptually, the device is similar to Megaswitch HD.
The digital image is buffered and upscaled to a higher resolution.
Both 4:3 and 16:9 aspect ratios are supported.
Thanks to the buffer, the image height can be adjusted.
And stable HDMI signal generation is maintained when the console changes resolution.
The video shows a demonstration of the prototype in operation.
